Reebok Real-time Stock Management using Radio Data Communications.

The Reebok company is known globally for its range of sportswear. In the UK Reebok distributes its products from locations in Lancashire and Middlesex. As a business sector, sports and leisurewear has been growing rapidly for many years and Reebok needed to be sure that their systems and infrastructure were developing in a manner that could keep pace with that growth.

Reebok had been benefiting from the use of real time stock management systems within their distribution centres for a number of years. The Lancashire and Middlesex locations used radio data collection devices and infrastructure. Ensign was contracted to supply surveying and installation services to Reebok for those original implementations and subsequently Ensign was awarded a site support contract for the radio LANs.

Ensign's expertise and experience in providing a hassle free migration service to similar organisations was of great importance to Reebok. Once the LAN infrastructure was completed, the 802.11 access points were installed throughout the distribution centre. The access points had been pre-configured and tested off site as part of the project plan to reduce system down time during implementation. The old hardware was then decommissioned and the new infrastructure put on line.
