Ensign Communications and CDI Group Celebrate Acquisition & Merger
By Gregg Meade on 16th Nov 2018
Leading network infrastructure and IT services provider, Ensign Communications is celebrating the acquisition and merger with Birmingham-based communications and enterprise networking provider, CDI Group.
Part of an ambitious 3-year growth plan, the deal sees Ensign Communications more than double in size, increasing both turnover and the personnel across their multiple areas of networking expertise.
The companies’ geographical footprint is also further enhanced as a result of the merger. CDI’s presence in both Birmingham and Newcastle compliments Ensign’s existing sites in Poole and Manchester, enabling the combined businesses to serve more customers, more efficiently than ever before, across the whole UK.
The two businesses share several core skills and abilities – most notably in the design and installation of network, wireless and structured cabling solutions – but, more importantly, boast managed and professional services portfolios which dovetail to form a comprehensive, end-to-end approach to enterprise network and cybersecurity provision. This ability to deliver ever-increasing levels of complex technology at lower cost and with less risk to clients, is compelling news amidst the rapidly evolving drive towards cloud utilisation via desktop and smart mobile devices.
“I am really pleased to welcome our CDI colleagues to the Ensign team, as I believe our combined capabilities will enable us all to realise our vision as a market-leading IoT and enterprise cloud networking specialist. Adding their 30-years of experience to our equally notable history is an incredibly exciting opportunity for us to pass our collective knowledge to our customers and to break new ground as one unified team.” Adam Jarvis, Managing Director, Ensign Communications.
Paul Bevington, IT & Operations Director at CDI Group, added, “Joining the team at Ensign Communications is really exciting for us. The acquisition and merger gives us access to many more internal resources across technical, sales and customer service functions, as well as more agility throughout our supply chains; I believe this move promises to benefit everyone involved, from staff and customers to partners and suppliers.”
Ensign Communications were advised by Steele Raymond Solicitors, based in Bournemouth.
